Traditional methods of exposing an artist’s work have been through gallery exhibits. While effective, artists often find it difficult to get more than a few exhibits each year, and the exposure is limited to the city where the exhibit is held.
The popularity of the Internet has leveled the playing field for all artists. Not only can an artist gain international exposure by going on-line, but he or she can have their artwork available for viewing by anyone at anytime, anywhere in the world.
Florida Artists Registry.com was developed for this very purpose. We began as a modest listing of artists in February of 2000. We have now grown to be an online arts community for the entire state of Florida. We currently have more than 1,600 members including artists, galleries, museums and art organizations throughout the state. Many artists have their own Web page within our site for a small annual fee. Due to our popularity these artists all rank well in search engines, gaining them additional exposure.
We provide many free services, including listings on the Web site, and a message board where anyone in the arts community can post relevant messages in a variety of topics. Twice each month we publish an e-mail newsletter of current art events and feature stories about member artists. Art galleries, museums and organizations can reach a much broader market by sending their press releases to us for inclusion in our newsletter.
Our members are our success. Our link popularity with other art sites, and our diligence in promoting the Web site has earned Florida Artists Registry.com a top ranking in all the major search engines This has resulted in the Web site receiving a large number of visitors each day, and many artists being contacted directly for gallery exhibits and sales of work.
We provide four levels of membership, including free listings, enhanced listings and two levels for artists to display their work in one page or three page online portfolios. These artists also can sell their works through our online gift shop. The cost for promoting an artists’ work on our Web site is often much less than the cost of hosting a Web site alone.
